Last Friday night, February 6th, Jonathan competed in a regional Math is Cool competition. "Math is Cool" is a competition where math teams are formed at each school by grade level. For example, Jonathan was 1 of 16 kids(4 teams of 4) from his middle school. The schools then compete against each other by regions. The kids compete by taking indvidual tests, working together as teams for team contests, do relays, mental math, and college bowl(which is another fun math competition). There were about 300 kids at the competition, and Jonathan came in 3rd overall on the individual test. He was also the top scoring individual from his middle school. In addition, his school took 3rd place on the team events. This was really an accomplishment! Way to Go Jonathan!!!

I was happy to see this on the blog. We're so proud of you, Jonathan. Way to go!! I wonder what it would feel like to have such a neat brain.
There are always good parents behind kids like you. Our grandchildren all have neat parents.
Love you,
G. Barlow
