Today we are half way through our mission. We haven't achieved anything great. We have just gone about visiting, teaching, blessing, serving and inviting, as any good home teacher or visiting teacher would.
We realize more than ever how blessed we are to have such a wonderful family. We appreciate your love and support and example. Some of the Lord's most choice spirits are in our family.
We have also enjoyed the additional blessing of serving as companions. Elder Barlow has had the best missionary companion that he could have. We are preparing to serve as eternal companions in preaching the gospel to more of our Father's children. Sister Barlow appreciates seeing how people's lives have been blessed through the power of the priesthood which Elder Barlow holds.
We know more than ever before that our Father in Heaven lives and loves us, and hears and answers our prayers. We know that it was through His great love for us that our Savior offered himself to be our Redeemer. We know the Holy Ghost comforts us and tells us what we should do. We know we are led by a living prophet in these latter days. We know Joseph Smith was the prophet of the restoration.
This scripture brought tears: Helaman 5:45-48 "And behold, the Holy Spirit of God did come down from heaven, and did enter into their hearts, and they were filled as if with fire, and they could speak forth marvelous words. And it came to pass that there came a voice unto them, yea, a pleasant voice, as if it were a whisper, saying: Peace, peace be unto you, because of your faith in my Well Beloved, who was from the foundation of the world. And now, when they heard this they cast up their eyes as if to behold from whence the voice came; and behold, they saw the heavens open; and angels came down out of heaven and ministered unto them."
Can you imagine what it would have been like to experience that? May the angels of heaven attend all of you, our dear loved ones. May you feel His peace, despite these trying times. God bless you!
We love you,
Elder and Sister Barlow
